Stair Lifts

Stair Lifts are semi-custom made products as the track is cut to the length of your staircase. The track can often be reused however there are several hours of labor expense involved in the preparation of a lift for the application. In addition, shipping of the product is expensive. The following is the return policy on New, Factory Reconditioned, and Used AmeriGlide Stair Lifts. Purchase of our stair lift means you understand and accept the return terms and conditions below. You may cancel your order prior to shipment and obtain a full refund of your purchase price unless your track has been cut then there is a $200 fee for track preparation and boxing.

AmeriGlide stair lifts may be returned within 5 business days of receipt for a refund less the following:

All returned stair lifts shall incur a 15% restocking fee calculated from the gross selling price to cover the cost of handling and initial preparation of the unit.
All returned stair lifts will be charged the outbound freight expense incurred by the company to ship the unit, which is $199.
Return shipping is the obligation of the customer.
Please call us to obtain an Return Authorization form prior to shipping the unit back. The Return Authorization will provide exact instructions on the return process.




Refused Shipment Policy:
If a stair lift shipment is refused by the customer at the delivery address, the customer will be responsible for a minimum $700 fee to cover prep, handling, track, and freight charges.



Refunds:
Your refund will be processed after the item has been inspected. We will credit the original credit card. If you paid by check, a refund check will be mailed to you.



Cancellations:
If the lift has not shipped, you can cancel for a fee of $50.00.



Vertical Platform Lifts

Vertical platform lifts are custom-made for each order and are non-returnable. No exceptions.



Cancellations:
If your vertical lift has not been shipped, you can cancel for a fee of 25% (twenty-five percent).

FAQ

How hard is a stair lift to install?

AmeriGlide stair lifts are designed for homeowner installation. It normally takes 1-3 hours for your first stair lift installation.



What kind of warranty do AmeriGlide stair lifts come with?

New AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 2-year parts warranty and a 5-year warranty on the drive train. Factory Reconditioned AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 1-year parts warranty and a 3-year warranty on the drivetrain. Used AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 1-year parts-only warranty. We are so confident of the quality of these stair lifts that we provide the best warranties in the industry!



How much room is required to install a stair lift?

The track on an AmeriGlide stair lift takes up 11.5 inches of your staircase. When folded up, the stair lift uses 14 inches of space, except on HD units which have seats that don't fold. If your staircase is less than 36 inches wide, it is recommended that you sit the user in a chair that is up against a wall, and measure the distance from the wall to the user's knees. How much weight is the stair lift capable of carrying?

Most AmeriGlide stair lifts have a lifting capacity of 300 lbs. Some Heavy-Duty Stair Lifts have a 500 lb. weight capacity. Each stair lift is designed for use by one person at a time.



How much will it cost to maintain the stair lift and have it serviced?

The AmeriGlide stair lift needs very little maintenance - just a light greasing of the track every 6 months will keep it running smoothly.



Are AmeriGlide stair lifts safe?

AmeriGlide stair lifts comply with standards and codes established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Intertek (ETL), and the Underwriters Laboratories (UL).



Safety Features Included with Every AmeriGlide Stair Lift:

Footrest safety sensor to stop the stair lift should it strike anything on the stairway.
Swivel the safety switch to ensure that the stair lift seat is in the proper position before lifting.
Safety belt attached to the seat for occupant safety. Cable tension safeguards insure that the lift will stop if the cable loses tension.
Limit switches shut the stair lift off in the same place at the top and bottom of the stairs automatically.
Pressure controls make sure that the stair lift stops motion as soon as the controls are released.

Return Time Frame

Return Shipping Costs

Returns Process

  • Please note that returns sent without prior authorization will not be accepted.
  • All product returns must be completed via mail.

Change of Mind Returns

If you decide you no longer want the item, you have 30 days from your date of purchase to return it, exclusion apply. The item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in resalable condition. You will need to pay for the return shipping. Once we receive the item and verify its condition, we will issue a refund for the item cost, minus the original shipping fee and any applicable restocking fee.

Restocking Fee

For all change of mind returns, a restocking fee of 25% will be charged.
